As TEDxUQ’s first-ever Salon event, we are thrilled to present Connect • Compose • Camaraderie – an evening where music becomes the thread that brings people closer together. Presented in collaboration with UQ Voices and featuring Vicki Bos, a TEDxUQ 2024 speaker and an experienced teacher in the TESOL sector, this Salon will celebrate the profound and transformative power of music as a bridge between cultures and languages.
Together, we will explore what it means to “connect” through shared voices, where meaningful exchanges occur and genuine rapport is built through music. The main highlight of this Salon is an inspiring panel discussion, followed by an opportunity to “compose” a shared song together. Like what Vicki shared in her talk last year, true “camaraderie” then emerges when we are all united in song.

Unlike our main TEDxUQ event, the Salon offers a more intimate and interactive setting, giving everyone a space to listen, interact, and be part of a harmony we create together. Join us on Wednesday, 10 September and be part of the event where we immerse ourselves in a musical night.
