Coffee Fruit Bar

The Coffee Fruit Bar is a product of I am Grounded, a disruptive health and wellness social enterprise that looks to change the way we use coffee.

Coffee Fruit Bar harnesses the power of upcycling the natural by-product of the coffee cherry to contribute positive environmental and social change in coffee producing and coffee drinking communities. Through championing eco-innovation, Coffee Fruit Bar aims to lessen environmental loading on the planet and further the ‘closed loop’ approach in coffee production. They are focused on social empowerment and providing economic opportunities for impoverished coffee producing communities.

Hope Street Café

Hope Street Café at South Brisbane and Hope On Boundary Café in West End, managed by Micah Projects, are social enterprises, providing good value, healthy breakfast and lunch options. The cafés are also available for function hire and manage a busy catering service including deliveries. As social enterprises, the cafés allow for volunteering opportunities but most importantly, hospitality industry training and employment opportunities for people who face barriers to work.

The cafés manage Supported Traineeships with a Recognised Hospitality Qualification. This training is funded by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training – Skilling Queenslanders for Work and there are no out of pocket expenses for participation in the program. The cafés operate in partnership with Axiom College and the local hospitality scene and strive to be an inclusive community asset and hub.

NewVote is making true democracy easier by putting it in everyone’s hands. We’ve built a democracy institute and app in response to the lowest levels of trust in government (as an institution) and confidence in democracy (as the best form of government) in recorded history. The app features wikis, tools for direct and deliberative (well-informed and reflective) democracy, crowdsourcing, multi-featured data and a policy-comparison tool. Our aim is to enable inclusive, informed, transparent and secure collective decision-making — to increase both the amount and the quality of public engagement — in efficient and adaptable ways.
