Since the conception of TEDxUQ in 2011, one element that remains and revels is our thrill in creating a platform to blur the lines between the cognitive and the creative; pushing the boundaries of human knowledge into the realms of the future.
The sandstone of UQ familiar to us all not only represents prestige and academia but a gateway to culture and groundbreaking research. From the advancement of hypersonic flight with the SPARTAN scramjet to the discoveries on the genetics of pancreatic cancer, 2016 marks a truly captivating year for TEDxUQ as we continue to tirelessly discover previously unexplored frontiers.
This year, join us on a journey of discovery, perspective and appreciation as our speakers share how they are pioneering the future of research and extending the frontiers of knowledge. Come challenge your perception of what is possible in the future. Join us and get a glimpse of Future Frontiers.

What is TEDxUQ?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxUQ where x = independently organized TED event. At TEDxUQ, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
Have something to share? Speaker nominations are now open. Send us an application and tell us how you've approached Future Frontiers.
Keen to meet like minded people and listen to the best and brightest? Stay tuned as we release information on how you can attend TEDxUQ 2016.
